Abstract

This study investigates how strategic information management (SIM) can optimize organizational performance, employing a qualitative research approach through literature review and library research. Strategic information management refers to the systematic use of information systems and resources to support decision-making and enhance organizational efficiency. The analysis focuses on how SIM influences key performance indicators such as productivity, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. By synthesizing existing literature, the study identifies several critical factors, including data accuracy, information accessibility, and alignment with organizational goals, as essential components for successful SIM implementation. The findings reveal that effective SIM not only improves decision-making processes but also facilitates communication, resource allocation, and innovation within organizations. However, challenges such as data management complexity, cybersecurity risks, and resistance to new systems may limit the full potential of SIM. This research highlights the importance of aligning information management strategies with broader organizational objectives to create a sustainable competitive advantage. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of how SIM can be a vital enabler of organizational agility, adaptability, and overall performance improvement in today’s data-driven business environment. Organizations are encouraged to continuously invest in the development and optimization of their information management systems to achieve superior performance outcomes.
